Health Care Reform

Health policy covers a wide range of political, social and economic concerns, from the standard of available care to the many social problems affecting public health. Access to basic health care and the financing of the system are areas likely to be the subject of dramatic legislative changes in coming years. Students interested in health care reform will want to understand current efforts to improve coverage, costs and efficiencies in the U.S. and other countries. Unlike a career representing life science companies or health care providers, a career in health care reform does not require an in depth knowledge of business or intellectual property law. In this arena, however, an understanding of economics and how to use and respond to policy studies is essential.
