[ Litigation ] as a Related Elective for those interested in ADR : To develop additional perspectives and expertise in conflict resolution, students should consider taking one or more courses that explore the ADR process in depth. This course gives students the opportunity to observe ADR processes in the field. General course Description: Effective client representation increasingly calls for lawyers with skill within a broad range of alternative dispute resolution processes. In this course, you will have the opportunity to observe mediations at the San Mateo Superior Court and participate in the assessment and design of an online dispute resolution process. Students in the class will meet periodically to review relevant law and policy, discuss observed cases, and conduct the assessment for the online process design. Course Style: An Experiential course is one in which students undertake tasks derived from or akin to those done by practicing lawyers. Course Frequency: Offered once a year |
