[ Litigation ] as a Related Elective for those interested in Intellectual Property : Since virtually every business includes some form of intellectual property among its critical assets, it is important for business attorneys to be familiar with the ways in which intellectual property rights are asserted, exchanged, protected, and respected, both in theory and in practice. Commercial transactions often have significant antitrust implications and special care must be taken to ensure that such transactions are properly structured so as not to run afoul of both national and international antitrust laws. General course Description: This seminar, co-taught by eBay's first In-House Counsel and former Director of Law & Public Policy, Brad Handler, examines the ways in which intellectual property rights are asserted, exchanged, protected, and respected, both in theory and in practice. Special attention is devoted to the regulatory and strategic considerations involved in the business and legal decisions implicating intellectual property.
