[ Litigation ] as a Related Elective for those interested in Cultural Property : The international trade of stolen and illegally exported art and antiquities is a major concern for countries and institutional and individual consumers of art. Trade attorneys should be mindful of goods that could be considered cultural property and the consequences of possessing such property. Students should take Art and the Law prior to enrolling in this class General course Description: This seminar explores the growing national and international attention to law and policy concerning cultural heritage (works of art, antiquities, architectural monuments, archives, intangible cultural heritage, etc.). Students will write and present research papers. Course Style: A Substantive/ Perspective course looks at law from an external or non-traditional standpoint. Course Frequency: Offered once a year |
