Understanding the tax laws related to partnerships can be useful when working with clients to form business ventures as partnerships or to assist with estate planning issues for clients whose assets include income from a partnership. This course examines the tax consequences of operating in partnership form. General course Description: This class examines the federal income tax consequences of the following topics: partnership formation, allocation of partnership income and loss; partnership distributions; and transactions between partners and partnerships. Course Style: A Substantive/Statutory course deals with law, theory, and policy in the context of a particular code or statutory scheme. Course Frequency: Offered once a year |
