Thus, lifescience lawyers should have a basic understanding of the American health care system and its legal and policy problems. Part II focuses on ethics and public health issues. General course Description: This course is the second part of an introductory survey of the American health care system and its legal and policy problems. The class will focus on ethical issues and on public health. Specific issues will include end of life, reproductive rights, research ethics, the food and drug administration, and public health law.The class is open to all law or medical students. Graduate students may be admitted from other parts of the university by consent of the instructor. Course Style: A Substantive/Statutory course deals with law, theory, and policy in the context of a particular code or statutory scheme. |
