[ Academia ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Pollution : Students interested in pollution and public health issues should take one or more courses addressing air and water supplies, the causes of pollution and the consequences to public health of insufficient or polluted supplies. This course introduces engineering methods used to study and seek solutions to current air quality problems. General course Description: For juniors and seniors. Use of microeconomics and mathematical optimization theory in the design of environmental regulatory programs; tradeoffs between equity and efficiency in designing regulations; techniques for predicting adverse effects in environmental impact assessments; information disclosure requirements; and voluntary compliance of firms with international regulating norms. Prerequisites: MATH 51. Recommended: 70. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
