[ Litigation ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in International Trade : Students interested in international trade and policy as it relates to environmental law will want to take one or more courses considering the effect of global economic development on the environment, including the political dynamics relating from the rising demand for sources of energy. This course considers whether minorities and low income citizens suffer disproportionate environmental and health impacts as a result of government and corporate decision making. General course Description: Focus is on whether minorities and low income citizens suffer disproportionate environmental and health impacts resulting from government and corporate decision making in contexts such as the siting of industrial facilities and waste dumps, toxic chemical use and distribution, and the enforcement of environmental mandates and policies. Implications of environmental justice issues at the international level, emphasizing climate change. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
