[ Litigation ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Europe : Practitioners have noted that it is important to understand the economic, political, and cultural forces in a particular region in order to build relationships in those areas. Region: Eastern & Western Europe General course Description: The experience and representation of Poland's wartime history from the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939 to the aftermath of Yalta in 1945. Nazi and Soviet ideology and practice regarding the Poles and the ways Poles responded, resisted, and survived. The self-characterization of Poles as innocent victims, and their involvement or complicity in the Holocaust, thus engaging in a current debate in Polish society. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
