The course should be useful for any education lawyer who is working on school reform issues. [ Litigation ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Reform : This course offers the perspectives of thought leaders and entrepreneurs who are addressing social needs in the U.S. and internationally through a variety of innovative ventures and institutions: nonprofit, private for-profit, nongovernmental organizations and public institutions. The course should be useful for any education lawyer who is working on school reform issues. General course Description: How to create and grow innovative, non-profit and for-profit ventures which have the primary goal of solving social and environmental problems. Topics include organizational mission, strategy, marketing, financing and evaluation. Opportunities and limits of methods from the for-profit sector to meet social goals. Perspectives from the field of social entrepreneurship. Focus is on integrating theory with practical applications. Enrollment limited to 20. Prerequisite:consent of instructor. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
