[ Litigation ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Social Psychology : Students interested in criminology should be familiar with social psychology and the social process it studies, such as identity, deviance, stereotyping, racism and other sources of inter-group conflict. This course considers certain cognitive and group processes and focuses on techniques of investigation and methodologies. Students may want to take one or more courses on social psychology that consider the relationship between beliefs and behaviors, including methods of effecting changes in behavior. General course Description: Major theoretical perspectives, and their assumptions and problems, in interpersonal processes and social psychology. Techniques of investigation and methodological issues. Perspectives: symbolic interaction, social structure and personality, and cognitive and group processes. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
