Students interested in a public interest career should consider taking 1 or more courses that examine the causes of social, economic and political inequality and consider possible policy interventions. General course Description: Causes and consequences. Effects of antipoverty policies, and debates over effective social policies. Focus is on how poverty and inequality are experienced by families, children, and communities. Topics include welfare reform and labor market policies, education, and community-based antipoverty strategies. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
