[ Academia ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Electronics : IP attorneys should have a basic understanding of the science underlying their client's business and current issues in that area. Students with sufficient science background who are interested in patent prosecution or managing clients' patent portfolios in the computer or electronics industries, should consider taking 1 or more courses that explore in greater depth the technical aspects of information technology or electronics. This course focuses on the design of digital systems, including digital representation of information. General course Description: Digital circuit, logic, and system design. Digital representation of information. CMOS logic circuits. Combinational logic design. Logic building blocks, idioms, and structured design. Sequential logic design and timing analysis. Clocks and synchronization. Finite state machines. Microcode control. Digital system design. Control and datapath partitioning. Lab. Prerequisite: ENGR 40. Corequisite for WIM: ENGR 102E. Undergraduates must enroll for 4 units. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
