[ Academia ] [ Litigation ] [ Regulatory & Policy ] as a Related Elective for those interested in Antidiscrimination : Stereotyping and prejudice are factors that may influence the experience and outcome for members of a racial or ethnic minority or other protected class, especially when they enter a criminal justice system created by members of a different race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Students should consider taking at least one or two courses focusing on this issue. General course Description: Topics in this course will include equal protection standards, employment, family, reproductive rights, sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence, pornography, sexual orientation, diversity in the profession, feminist legal theory, international human rights, and intersections with race, ethnicity, class, and sexual orientation. Materials will include cases, commentary, problems, and media portrayals. Course Style: A Substantive/ Perspective course looks at law from an external or non-traditional standpoint. Course Frequency: Offered once a year |
