[ Academia ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Global Health : Students interested in health policy should consider taking one or more courses focusing on global health issues. In today's global economy, it is not unusual for national or even local-level policies to be impacted by global issues. Additionally, many global policies are attempting to address issues that are also of concern in our more economically-disadvantaged communities. This lecture series addresses topics like the pricing and distribution of biomedical products in poor communities. General course Description: Student initiated lecture series. Guest speakers. Topics include: neglected diseases, underserved and impoverished markets, disease profiles of lower and middle income countries, pricing and distribution of biomedical end products, intellectual property in medicine and its effect on delivery of healthcare. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law Course Frequency: Offered three times a year |
