[ Academia ] as a Relevant Course outside SLS for those interested in Public Policy : Students interested in international politics will want to consider the role that the fields of energy and climate change have been playing in recent years. This seminar is an interdisciplinary introduction that considers specific technologies as well as economic and political perspectives. General course Description: The seminar provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the technology, economics, and international politics of energy and climate. We investigate specific energy technologies and discuss their impact on geopolitics, the environment and mitigating the effects of climate change.What is the role of energy in national security? What will climate change mean for our energy mix? How do developing countries view energy and climate change? What is the proper balance between regulation and free market operation in energy markets? Course Style: A Substantive/ Perspective course looks at law from an external or non-traditional standpoint. |
