[ Regulatory & Policy ] as a Key Elective : Lawyers who work with clients in the entertainment industry need to know more than trademark and copyright law. They should also understand something about the business of distributing content on-line, and the policy issues arising from licensing different types of content. This course offers a practical application of legal concepts to real-world media examples. General course Description: This course examines copyright and other aspects of intellectual property relating to film, television, music, toys, and multimedia in industrial context from a variety of perspectives, detailing the business, legal, social, and ethical issues encountered by practitioners as well as the policy issues raised by the digital revolution. The course will be taught through a series of simulated in-depth case files in which confront the challenges of intellectual property law in the entertainment industries. Course Style: A Substantive course teaches the law, theory, and policy in a particular area of law |
