SLS Approved Non-Law Courses

Stanford University courses approved for Law School credit without a petition are listed below. Listing of a course does not necessarily mean that it will be offered every year and some of the courses listed may have special enrollment instructions and restrictions. See course description or department contact for detailed course information. If a student wishes to enroll in a course for Law School credit that is not listed, the student may petition to take that course. The petition must be filed with the Registrar, and it must be filed by the Friday of the first week of the quarter in which the course is taken. Petition forms are available on the SLS Registrar’s Office website. Students should carefully review the Law School Student Handbook for a complete description of the policies and limitations on taking courses outside the Law School.
